Drive all over MH to find this place because of the recommendation. It did not disappoint. Try the Brazilian roast. Really smooth. Taking a pound back to Ontario.

There are few occasions where one feels immediately welcome and comfortable as a customer in a coffee shop. More often we are greeted abstractedly, served and on our way.

Not at the Mad Hatter.  But that's not why one should visit the Hatter. It's a bonus.

Come for the coffee. It is prepared with care and the in house roasted beans are on par with the best we get in Ottawa Toronto and Montreal.

    Enjoy.

As we walked in the door, the guy behind the counter gushed a "Good morning! How are you? What would you like today?" If he were any sweeter, my teeth would hurt.

I had tea (yeah, yeah, in a coffee roasting place), which was served in a little pot and made with super hot water. Great!

Husband had his usual coffee drink, and said it was great.

We chose muffins, which were very good: tender, flavorful, not too sweet.

Music wasn't too loud, but when the place started filling up, it got very conversations, laughter and chairs scraping on the floor got too noisy.

    Free wifi. Great service.

Our first stop on our way to Saskatchewan. Great little coffee shop and the staff are super friendly and actually seem to want to have a conversation. They sold out of the maple pancake muffins which was to bad but I heard they were great. The coffee, sandwich and cookie we got were awesome though! Thank you

This and the Inspire Café are my two favorite coffee houses. Right across from Tim Hortons one can wait in line for half an hour trying to get coffee and donuts. Or they can walk across the street and have freshly roasted coffee. The roasting machine is right in the center of the café and the scent of freshly roasted beans is everywhere. Slightly limited in the food department but still everything is fresh and tasty.
